(Slightly) higher cancer levels
Today before I got my flu shot I headed to the lab at the UBC Hospital to get my monthly blood test. Last Friday I completed my Velcade chemo treatment for Multiple Myeloma after 9 months (8 cycles), so it was important to find out what my cancer levels now are. If you recall when I began my chemo treatment in February my igG was 62.2, my cancer levels post-treatment are 7.1. They increased slightly over the last 2 months (6.9 in September and 7.0 in October).
I will see my specialist in mid-December to discuss what will happen next. I’m focused on staying happy and making everyday fun and productive.
Just to give a recap, I’m living with a rare blood cancer called Multiple Myeloma. From February to November 2013, I was on my 4th chemo treatment called Velcade, where I had weekly in-hospital injections, in addition to a variety of other pills taken to supplement my chemo treatment. You can read the background on my diagnosis and previous treatments on an earlier blogpost.
